Seasons, Teams and Schedules

Seasons Defined

Lacrosse in the Pacific Northwest is a spring sport. Our primary season runs from February - May, with the potential of participating in tournaments well into June.  Our youth teams (1st-8th grades) play in the Greater Eastside Lacrosse League (GELL).  Our High School team (9th-12th grades) play in the Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association (WHBLA).  Games are scheduled by the leagues.

Many teams also offer Fall Ball, September-November. The approach is more of a casual one, with practices typically less than the regular season and, depending on participation, may or may not includes formal games.

Summer is the off-season. That said, there are many camps available locally where kids can hone their skills.  In addition there are other select clubs that travel offer summer options.

Teams

Each year our goal is to register at least one team in the 1st-2nd grade, 3rd-4th grade, 5th-6th grade, 7th-8th grade, and 9th-12th grade levels.  This is entirely contingent upon the number of kids who register.

Practices and Games

Practices begin for 3/4 & 5/6 in late February. They are twice a week for 90 minutes each. Both teams will share a field for practices, and will be held at the same time. Games begin in March, and are typically on Saturday mornings - but occasionally start in the afternoon.

The 7/8 team also begins practices in late February, but will occur 3x / week for 90 minutes each.  Games begin in March, and are typically on Saturday mornings - but occasionally start in the afternoon.

The 9/12 team begins practice in late February or Ealy March.  Practices are held Monday - Thursday for 2 hours each.  Games can fall on any day of the week except Sunday.

The 1-2 season goes from March - May. Practices and / or games are once per week (TBD), and run for an hour.
