Coach Gunnar Swanson – High School Lacrosse Head Coach

Gunnar Swanson brings years of experience and passion for the game to the high school lacrosse program. He has coached both at the middle school and high school levels and is all about helping players sharpen their skills and build confidence while keeping the game fun and competitive. For Gunnar, it’s not only about stick skills and field awareness—it’s about creating a team that feels like family. He believes the best teams are built on trust, respect, and having each other’s backs. When players support one another, they grow as athletes and as people. Off the field, Gunnar is married to Christine and the proud father of two sons who have grown up immersed in the sport. His oldest son, Drew, now plays at Montana State University after competing for the Seattle Stars and Cedarcrest High School. His younger son, Nash, is a senior at Cedarcrest this year and looks forward to playing this spring.

A Note from Coach Swanson

I’m fired up to coach this group and see what we can accomplish together. My goal is simple: work hard, respect the game, and play for each other. Lacrosse is fast, demanding, and sometimes a little chaotic—but that’s what makes it great. When we treat our team like family, we build something bigger than wins and losses. I want every player to finish this season proud of their growth and the way they represented themselves and their teammates. Parents, thanks for your support – I can’t wait to partner with you to make this a great season!

Let’s go Red Wolves!
